De 27-jarige zanger MARC BROUSSARD maakte begin 2008 grote indruk in Nederland. Zijn fantastische stemgeluid en zogeheten ‘bayou soul’, een mix van funk, soul, blues en jazz die uiteraard met de nodige broeierigheid gebracht wordt, waren te horen in diverse radio-uitzendingen zoals bij Giel Beelen op 3FM en op televisie bij Paul de Leeuw. Daar verraste de jonge Amerikaan het nummer 'Coming in from the Cold', waarbij ongetwijfeld veel kijkers met open mond voor de televisie hebben gezeten. Vervolgens was hij een van de revelaties van het North Sea Jazz festival 2008 en afgelopen april was Marc Broussard als special guest van Paul Carrack al even te zien in WATT met een korte solo set.

Broussard debuteerde in 2002 met het album ‘Momentary Setback’ en in de recensies werd zijn gruizige, hese bariton meteen vergeleken met die van sterren als Dr. John, Al Green en Ray Charles. In 2007 groef hij diep naar de zwarte wortels van zijn muziek op ‘S.O.S.: Save Our Soul’, een album waarop elf klassieke soulnummers uit de kluizen van de fameuze labels Stax en Motown staan.

Broussard’s nieuwe album ‘Keep Coming Back’ was in Amerika in 2008 al uitgebracht en deze is afgelopen maart ook in Nederland verschenen. Ter promotie van deze vierde langspeler keert de talentvolle singer-songwriter terug voor een aantal optredens, dit keer met zijn band en uiteraard een volledige show!

Born into a family of musicians ANDREW ROACHFORD spent his early childhood and formative teenage years, on the road with his uncle Bill Roachford, a virtuoso jazz saxophonist, who was at the centre of the European Jazz scene at that time. "It was great, I got lucky enough to start gigging early on, and being in the middle of that whole rootsy vibe, around people like Femi Kuti, was a real interesting education. It taught me musically, how to listen and how to entertain. My uncle always told me that you always had to give people a really great show". That advice would prove invaluable to the young Andrew Roachford, as he was the first artist to sign a staggering seven-album deal with Columbia Records, and all on the strength of a small live showcase. He has become Columbia's biggest selling UK act for ten years, and all of his four albums, have reached Gold status in Britain, spawning a string of hit singles. It's no coincidence that Roachford has been compared to the likes of Al Green and Donny Hathaway - hearing is believing!. Roachford has a sound that truly encompasses all of those Classic Old Skool flavours, and as a profound singer-songwriter he is constantly evolving, infusing his own organic Soul experience, with the raw energy of Hip Hop. "Hip Hop to me represents funk, rhythm and attitude and those things are important in my music". Roachford's lyrics flow like a true poet, "My lyrics deal with issues such as relationships and spirituality, in a way that's not common in a lot of RnB or Hip-Hop music today, although artists such as D'angelo, Mos Def and Gill Scott are coming from a similar place, and people relate to it, because it's reaching just that little bit deeper".

Roachford's new album will be released in fall of 2009 and is called
